Rise above it

Rise above itEvery now & then I see that Azzy gets up on the chair at the kitchen table & I always know why. It’s to distance herself from her younger brother Tank who is being immature & annoying her.

When all else fails, sometimes you just have to rise above it or just distance yourself a bit to regain your mo-Jo!

Eat what you needStopped after T’s basketball game to pick up lunch at our favorite deli and Ohhhhh..how I wanted to just order a big fluffy high-carb bagel loaded with cream cheese & high sodium turkey ..and a side of soup-also very high sodium. But it’s not worth it to me. I work too hard.

If it were a special occasion, I would have indulged! But temptations are ALL around us..& if they’re in your HOUSE, that’s even worse! Get rid of it!

Take a deep breath & buy what you like but is a healthier choice.

This is half of a veggie spinach wrap..no cream cheese or cheese, all-natural Light Blue Cheese dressing for dip in the bowl (barely needed any because it’s a strong taste) & a half serving of Peanut Butter Banana Shakeology for added nutrients & protein.

Lack of core strength (which includes your back too) can result in back injuries. Back injuries are awful to deal with!

With a dumbbell or medicine ball, lower down VERY slowly, one vertebrae at a time, letting your lower back touch, then shoulders, keeping the ball or weight overhead. Slowly ROLL yourself back up slowly without any jerking or momentum & the ball or weight still overhead. Keep your knees bent & extended in front of you the whole time. ️

Be sure you’re warmed up!! In case this is too difficult, try it without weight first. This med ball is 14lbs

Just some more abwork. With a medicine ball or dumbbell, side step with rotation (this one can be done FAST & is more of a cardio exercise that works the core too ..good for those who can’t JUMP but need to get the heart rate up!), russian twists with feet up, & tucks or pikes!

This is a toasted Ezekiel English muffin. And for the egg salad I used 2 hardboiled eggs mashed up into 2T of nonfat plain Greek yogurt & 1T mustard, diced onion, Himalayan salt & pepper.

About 300 calories & over 20g protein.

 

Progress

ProgressYay! Finally I’ve got some progress in progress on those back muscles! All because I decided I’d focus on upper body until I can get back to normal workouts.

Jenny is a mom of 2, has been married 18+yrs, and works full-time in Supply Chain Management.

Jenny loved the gym but was finding it taking precious time out of her busy schedule. So she discovered Turbo & ChaLean Extreme and convenience (and effectiveness) of working out from home. She was a HUGE skeptic of Shakeology at first, but is now going thru it like water!
