Do You Crosstrain?

Do you crosstrain!?! I try as many different things as POSSIBLE. Muscle and cardio confusion. It forces you to become stronger, fitter, more flexible, and helps avoid plateaus. Here I am at Crossfit learning to do better (and more) “toes to bar.” I’m still a newbie, but thanks to Jax (pictured teaching me form) and Mike at Black Swamp CrossFit, I’m catching on 😉

Great Ab Workout

Have you tried these? These make for a GREAT ab workout whether with the #TRX or using a ball.  Do you like how I labeled it in case you were confused as to what that big round circular object was? 🙂  I do 16 reps, 3 sets on the TRX mixed in with the rest of my lift or other core work (just showin the ball in case you don’t have a TRX). As with any other muscle, give your abs a day of rest after intense strength work so the muscles can repair and rebuild stronger 🙂

Blueberries and Yogurt

Do you like the taste of nonfat plain Greek yogurt by itself?? If I’m having it as a condiment, as a sour cream substitute, then I like it as is because it’s sour like sour cream. BUT… With fruit or by itself, I add vanilla stevia drops ..then it’s just like Vanilla yogurt without all the sugar that traditional yogurts have. This nonfat plain greek yogurt has 18g of protein. I like Chobani too! I got the Stevia drops at a local health food store but plain stevia packets would sweeten it too

Leggings

MUST to wear leggings on the plane!!..

Training while Injured

Can’t teach turbo tonight … Boo!! I’ve been nursing a little injury in my ribs since last week & am going to be cautious a little longer and not rotate or heavily engage my abs 🙁 So I ran & did a spin workout instead. When you’re sick/injured, be smart so you can heal but usually there are SOME things you can safely do without aggravating the injury further. Be creative.. check with your doctor first but try new ways to get strength & cardio in. See it as a maintenance phase until you heal. Nutrition needs to be on point at times like this 🙂

Fake Tan

A tan can make you look/ feel leaner! Agreed!?! Here in Toledo, I have SunSpray by Kathryn spray tan me which is what I have on here. While visiting sis in the OC, I use the professionals she uses Knockout Tans | Orange County’s BEST Mobile Tanning Salon! In between visits or when I can’t make it, I use “Fake Bake” which you can get from salons/stylists or Texture salon here in Toledo. St Tropez sold at Sephora is good too but more expensive & I actually like Fake Bake better, just fyi 🙂

My Awesome Husband

Happy 18th Anniversary to my awesome husband & best friend Matt!! And thank you to my sis Chalene Johnsonfor introducing us at the lake when we were 12! 🙂 We married young & I’m surrrre many thought it wouldn’t last!! But how could it not?
He’s hilarious!, he’s the most amazing dad!!, he’s my BIGGEST fan, my business partner, an awesome athlete & loves working out as much as I do (for REAL!) And he’s taking SUCH good care of me while I’m sick! He wouldn’t want me to talk about his HOTness, so I’ll leave it at that ! 😉

Push for your Goals!

Happy Birthday to my sister Chalene Johnson tomorrow!!!! Came across this pic of us with Monica from our trip to Maui last year. Can’t wait to go again this year with our families! I never would’ve had the opportunity to do HALF the things i’ve done these last couple years had I not learned from my sister to be open to opportunities, work smart, and PUSH for your goals!! Skinny Mirrors

You know how some mirrors make you look SUPER SKINNY… (fyi guys, we women call them “skinny mirrors”) well, Chalene put up this new *skinny mirror* in the room where I stay with a boatload of food in front of it! It’s such a trap!! Everytime I walk by the mirror, I think Ishould eat some more chocolate covered almonds!! And we’ll be filming in little sports bras tomorrow!! Ughhhhh (and whats up with the super strength altoids?? Is that a hint??)
