Do pictures of healthy food help?

One of my small meals today (and I washed it down with a piece of dark chocolate 🍫😉).
~350 calories (400 with chocolate) & ~30g protein💥
I know my meals are SUPER boring to most but this way of eating works for me because it’s easy & quick👍! This is just turkey burger (we grill a bunch 2x/week to put in stuff), avocado, tomato, & romaine on a LIGHTLY TOASTED (that’s key👌) Ezekiel English muffin ..all to be dipped in a mix of plain Greek Yogurt & Spicy Dijon mustard🙌

Breakfast for lunch. I eat a version of this almost daily (for 1 of my 4-5 meals). This omelet has 5 servings of egg whites (120 calories & 25g protein) + 1 full egg 🍳+ baby spinach🍃+ sliced sweet peppers😋+ salsa + avocado👌. In total, it’s about 300’ish calories, high protein, low glycemic index (low sugar), & filling! 🙌

When I’m super crunched for time, I either do a second Shakeology for the day OR throw the following in a bowl & no chopping/prepping is necessary:

Spring Mix 🍃
Pre hard boiled eggs🐓
Light Tuna 🐟
Grape tomatoes 🍅

My Treats

mint chocolate chunk quest barsOk.. My new Mint Chocolate Chunk Quest bars just arrived & I of course TORE into them!! They’re great!!

But, honestly, the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough are still my fav!

Yes, I know these 2 flavors are not in the “clean” category of Quest bars due to sucralose.

If you eat 100% clean & have no “treats”, awesome.. You are more disciplined than me. These are my treat!

Eat to perform

Eat for the body you wantI know not everyone likes the look of muscle but that’s ok, I’m not concerned with the look everyone likes☺.

I just know, for me & my body-type & appetite, I have 2 choices:
1. Eat for muscle gain & fatloss or
2. Eat for fat gain & muscle loss.

I choose #1

Either way, we have to EAT.. Food is for energy, healing, strength, & brain function.
Don’t starve yourself no matter how desperate & impatient you get!

Consider yourself an athlete & eat to perform (eat clean 80-90% of the time).
Don’t expect it to be easy, but KNOW it’s worth it regardless of how long it takes.
Although the aesthetic effects are often months delayed, the health benefits are immediate

Btw, this has Spring Mix, avocado, salsa, turkey burger, sweet peppers, and I dipped it in nonfat-plain Greek yogurt (pretending to be Sour Cream )

For the dressing, I just mashed some raspberries, with water, a little evoo, & stevia (I’m not one that knows all these crazy but yummy dressing recipes; if it takes more than a few minutes & ingredients, I’m out). I’m sure you can see what’s in this but in case not, it’s Spring mix, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, pine nuts & reduced fat feta (because I love feta!)

I always feel my best when I’m eating a BIG salad daily (& my Shakeology too of course) & I hope it makes you feel your best too

 

Preferred Restaurant Appetizer: This or Chips??

True foodsWe went to dinner at “True Foods” with Chalene & Bret and this was our appetizer.. All kinds of fresh, organic veggies w/hummus & bean dip! Years ago, I wouldn’t have been excited.. But adopting healthy eating preferences is a process.
All the food was ON POINT it’s my new fav restaurant here when we visit I hear True Foods has opened up new locations across the U.S– get to one if you can!!

Stuffed Hard boiled Eggs

This was my lil awesome snack! Hard boiled egg, remove the yolk & fill with Chunky Guacamole made by Earl’s (got it from Whole Foods ) then top with the yolk you removed & if you prefer, some Pink Himalayan Salt & pepper. Approx. 200 calories & nutrient-packed!
