I added flaxseeds to my smoothie…

Today I added flaxseeds (1 tbsp) to my smoothie & I couldn’t even detect it!! 👏🏼👏🏼

I never did that before because I thought I’d feel what seemed like tiny ants in my smoothie🐜 🤢…yah, I have a weird thing about certain textures.

Just like there shouldn’t be any raisins in my cookies …or nuts in a cake🚫 …and carrots in a cake?! Oh hail no! 🤣

And mushrooms & shrimp😷.. don’t even get me started.

BCAAs to Maximize Workout Results

I’ve been talking to a bunch of you in DM’s about BCAAs to maximize results from your workouts. There are SO many different BCAA products on the market.

The one I use has my protein BCAAs combined since I want both post-workout anyway.

What’s your go-to brand?? Does it have dyes and other artificial ingredients?

Does it have Artificial sweeteners that cause insulin spikes (& therefore increasing cravings). Are there dyes? Sooo many of the popular and cheap ones do

Check the label. Don’t risk your health just to save money or get results faster …it’s not only NOT worth it, it’s not necessary. There are products with clean ingredients. They may be more expensive but that could save you HUGE in the long run.

 

Chocolate Greek Yogurt

Yessss??? or Nooooope

This is chocolate Greek yogurt I made with chocolate protein powder & Fage Greek yogurt that I sweetened with Stevia. I just took about 1/4 scoop chocolate protein, added water to it until it was the consistency of chocolate syrup. Then I mixed it into my Greek yogurt & added 2 organic Stevia packets. It’s good as a treat just like that! I only did the drizzle & chocolate chips for show exclusively for you.. (as if I didn’t eat the chips).

I don’t track macros but if you DO & struggle to get in protein, this is 23g protein.

Pre-chopped salad

Just threw this together using one of those pre-chopped salads from Kroger ..it has kale, cabbage, & other greens, dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds & I added 1/4 apple, 1/4 avocado & pine nuts. I topped it with avocado ranch dressing made by Tessemaes ! It was DELISH!

Then I frantically searched for some chocolate as a lil dessert and found NONE

It really DOES help if you can’t access your trigger foods/drinks ..cravings do pass

BCAAs

BCAAs = Branched Chain Amino Acids. From every study I’ve read on PubMed, they’re essential if you’re serious about leveraging your strength training workouts. BUT.. it’s SO hard to find a BCAA product that has decently clean ingredients & actually tastes good! Most either have food dyes & artificial sweeteners, OR they taste horrible. If you like the taste & you’ll be putting it in your system regularly, be sure to check the label

Chocolate Superfood Almond Butter Bites

Little bit of a messy scene to get this pic but the end result was

Chalene & I wanted something sweet & you know how I avoid chocolate in the house (no control ), so I made us these Chocolate superfood Almond butter bites (2T Almond Milk, 2T Almond Butter, 1T Coconut Oil, 1 scoop Vegan Chocolate Shakeo), mix, ball up & freeze 15 minutes.

Be smart about sweeteners

I’m sure you already know this but beware of the protein supplements and so called “health” supplements that have artificial sweeteners that may upset your stomach.

For example, protein bars with maltitol do that for me. Everyone is different as to what their system can tolerate & at what stage of “clean eating” they have achieved. At the same time, beware of natural sweeteners that will actually spike your insulin and cause cravings. Just know what you’re consuming & the effects.

If you’re unsure if something you’re using to sweeten things is spiking your insulin and causing cravings after a meal or snack, ask a Nutritionist or Google it

Tempeh is healthy

You like???

This is hard boiled eggs, guacamole, hummus & tempeh.

And yes, Tempeh is healthy. It’s not your average soy product found in many protein bars & so-called “health” foods, which should be avoided. It’s *fermented* which is key, organic, and certified non-GMO made by Lightlife. Maybe all Tempeh’s aren’t certified non-gmo ..I don’t know.. but this kind I buy is.

To prep this, I put it in a pan (after dicing) with coconut oil, Braggs Liquid Aminos & Flavor God seasoning (usually “lemon & garlic).

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Clean Treat

Call them “fat bombs” or “super food bites” ..whatever, they’re 1g sugar (organic cane), nothing artificial, nutrient dense, healthy fats, & amazing.

RECIPE:…………..
1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil
1 Scoop Vegan Vanilla ShakeO
2 Tablespoon Almond Butter
2 Tablespoon Almond Milk
Mix, ball & freeze. Makes ~7 balls
