6 Small Meals

I admit, i’m NOT the CLEANEST eater ..if I was, I bet I’d have that 6pack!

But I’m always working to improve. My meals are fast & simple and it’s a way of eating that is do-able for me because I don’t like a lot of “rules.” But I work towards new HABITS every day, every week, every year.

Now I rarely have (and rarely miss) chips, alcohol, traditional desserts, restaurant foods, pizza and I usually only eat Ezekiel bread as far as breads go. But breaking/embracing habits takes TIME. For years I was a carb-aholic, sugar-addict, drank on weekends & hated most veggies! So you may be further along than me.

I have ~3-4 fruits & 5 veggies/day (because there’s 2 of each already in Shakeology) and I have 100+ grams of protein. So maybe this will help SOMEONE.

Also,I don’t eat ALL of this in a day.. I usually eat ~6 small meals (~300 calories each, roughly) + a couple hundred calories of “misc”.  All that said, YOU have to eat based on YOUR

  • nutritional needs
  • lifestyle
  • activity level
  • age
  • size
  • food preferences
  • YOUR goals.

The surest way to get results is just IMPROVE what you do now.

  • Eat less crap
  • Eat more salads
  • Reduce sugar
  • Avoid alcohol
  • Avoid restaurant foods
  • AND pay CLOSE attention to portions & grazing.

And when I say avoid, I don’t mean “never”… You gotta LIVE & NOT be obsessed with “skinny”

Peppermint Shakeology

This was so good in my shake it deserved the “twinkle” effect from Pixlromatic+ (iPhone app)! *่นRecipe: 1 cup ice, 1 cup Vanilla Unsweetened Almond Milk, half cup water, 2 cap fulls of Peppermint Extract (this has a small cap and probably holds only a third of what the other extract caps hold), 2 T of PB2 (if you put PB2 in EVERYTHING)  2-3 packs of “Stevia in the Raw” if you want it to be sweet like a dessert & 1 scoop/pack of Chocolate Shakeology.

Grilled Chicken Pocket with Salsa

You probably can’t fully see, but this pocket is PACKED with grilled chicken (made really quickly in my Foreman grill!! Love it!), Spring Mix, reduced fat Sharp Cheddar cheese, with ~2T Fage 0% Plain Greek Yogurt (like sour cream to me!), and salsa on the side that I spoon in as i eat!  I don’t put the salsa IN the pocket because there’s NOTHING worse than soggy bread! You could do this sandwich with a WRAP too, but again, I wouldn’t put the salsa IN it 😉 This was ~300 calories.

Greek Yogurt with Strawberries

Quick snack! This is greek yogurt under the strawberries with a packet of Stevia to sweeten! It’s 20g protein and DELISH. Blueberries have more nutritional benefits, but i just like Strawberries better.

Taco with Turkey and Brown Rice Tortilla

This is Extra lean GROUND turkey breast cooked with Taco Seasoning …then put it on a brown rice tortilla with tomato, avocado, romaine lettuce & reduced fat cheddar cheese! We added plain Greek yogurt in place of sour cream. Yum, right?!?

Cinnamon Raisin Ezekiel Toast with Banana

I was craving carbs & something sweet this afternoon (which pretty much goes for EVERY afternoon) so I try to make sure they’re “good carbs”. This is cinnamon raisin Ezekiel toast (which around here is sold in pretty much all the general grocery stores, just in the FREEZER section.. very easy to miss it too!!) with a half banana & shared between both pieces of toast. And then i mixed up some cinnamon and stevia to sprinkle on top! Another sweet/bad craving successfully CRUSHED. And it was quick & easy!

Veggie Sandwich

A veggie sandwich for one of my meals today! I taught bootcamp this morning so that means my appetite is outta control & there will definitely be 6meals today  plus 1-2 fruit snacks & my shakeology already has fruit & veg’s

Wrap with Chicken

Since I had just recently downed a 300 cal shakeology with added whey, a half of an Ezekiel wrap with chicken, nonfat plain greek yogurt and RF feta (less than ~200 cal’s) was appropriate for MY afternoon snack/meal after my workout.

Turkey Burger with Avocado

Lunch inspiration?? This is sesame Ezekiel bread, toasted, with extra lean ground turkey burger & avocado! No cheese or condiment. And no, I don’t use a special recipe for turkey burgers.. but I’m sure great ones exist

Sushi!! Yay or nay?? I love love love it!!! …as long as its mostly veggies & wrapped in carbs 😉 At least we’ve switched to brown rice!
