Trick Your Sweet Tooth With Low Glycemic Options

Yah, it sounds great & we need to do it but I’m here to tell ya you can trick yourself into believing you eat sweets regularly and yet still consume very little sugar.

Here are some of my favorite sweet, but low glycemic, options so that I’m not craving MORE sugar & therefore restoring my ever-powerful sugar addiction, which just turns into mindless snacking & unwanted fat.

Btw, none of these have Sucralose or artificial sweeteners👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼:

1. Almond butter on an apple
2. My greens smoothie
3. Dark chocolate chip (Lily’s brand of chocolate chips) superfood bites
4. Beachbars
5. Coffee (or decaf) with stevia, Bulletproof Brain Octane oil, cinnamon & a little whip ☁️

Do any of these sound appealing or helpful?🤷🏼‍♀️

Chocolate Almond Butter Bites

If I’m going to eat later in the evening, I *try* to make sure it has high nutritional value & is low glycemic/low sugar. This recipe is so simple & these are AMAZING.

🍫1 Tbsp Coconut Oil
🍫2 Tbsp Almond Milk
🍫2 Tbsp Almond Butter (or PB)
🍫1 Scoop Chocolate Vegan Superfood 🍃
Mix, ball & freeze. Makes 6.

Superfood Cookies

Well.. does this look like a chocolate mess or amazingness???

Pretty soon you’re gonna think my Quest Bar addiction has turned into a new addiction to these ..& maybe it has But these are a much more nutrient-packed option. Here’s the recipe for these Superfood cookies.

Makes ~12 cookies

2 scoops vanilla or Choc vegan Superfood
2 Tbsp Coconut Oil (not liquid form)
4 Tbsp Almond or Peanut Butter
4 Tbsp Almond or Coconut Milk
Mix all, ball up & flatten into cookie
Freeze for at least 15 min before eating
Chocolate drizzle optional

Baked Apple Treat

So this is a REALLY good idea for a warm, no-sugar-added treat! Can you believe I’ve NEVER baked an apple before??!

I decided to chop & bake this apple with a little melted coconut oil on top & cinnamon at 350 for 20’ish minutes in a glass baking dish. No sugar added & it was DELISHHH. I knowwwww.. some of you are probably rolling your eyes as if I think I just invented something new but I have a lot of kitchen-challenged followers who might appreciate this for themselves or their kids

Chocolate Greek Yogurt

Yessss??? or Nooooope

This is chocolate Greek yogurt I made with chocolate protein powder & Fage Greek yogurt that I sweetened with Stevia. I just took about 1/4 scoop chocolate protein, added water to it until it was the consistency of chocolate syrup. Then I mixed it into my Greek yogurt & added 2 organic Stevia packets. It’s good as a treat just like that! I only did the drizzle & chocolate chips for show exclusively for you.. (as if I didn’t eat the chips).

I don’t track macros but if you DO & struggle to get in protein, this is 23g protein.

I’m referring to bars with 15+ grams protein (in my opinion, less than that is essentially a snack/energy bar with protein in it). I happen to love them ..maybe because I’ve been eating protein bars for YEARSSSS maybe as a way to tame my inner chocoholic I’m definitely NOT advocating that you start eating protein bars if you don’t have any need; just curious as to your favorite if you do. I prefer the ones with NO SUCRALOSE or MALTITOL but still has low sugar (preferably sweetened with natural stevia).

This Birthday Cake QuestBar does have Sucralose, an artificial sweetener. I tried it but didn’t really like it anyway. The double chocolate chunk flavor is one of the few Quest Bars without sucralose, so it’s my go-to!

Sucralose can spike your blood sugar & insulin (making you crave more sweets) if it’s the powder form – like Splenda. If it’s the liquid form, apparently it doesn’t .. I have no idea which form Quest uses but I have it in my head that my cravings are higher if I eat a flavor like Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.

Post workout snack while I stretch, get some fresh air & return a few emails ..hey, that’s not burnt toast, ok! It’s toasted Ezekiel Muffin with grass-fed butter, cinnamon & Stevia sprinkled on top ..my version of cinnamon sugar toast

Chocolate Superfood Almond Butter Bites

Little bit of a messy scene to get this pic but the end result was

Chalene & I wanted something sweet & you know how I avoid chocolate in the house (no control ), so I made us these Chocolate superfood Almond butter bites (2T Almond Milk, 2T Almond Butter, 1T Coconut Oil, 1 scoop Vegan Chocolate Shakeo), mix, ball up & freeze 15 minutes.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Clean Treat

Call them “fat bombs” or “super food bites” ..whatever, they’re 1g sugar (organic cane), nothing artificial, nutrient dense, healthy fats, & amazing.
