Common hesitations and fears of becoming a Beachbody Coach
There are so many pre-conceived notions causing hesitations and fears. Here are just a few I’d like to clarify:
1. I’ll have to push products on family and friends.
No way! Pushing and convincing friends and family is not cool and NOT recommended. You may know someone doing that, and unfortunately, they haven’t had good training and are struggling. The way I run my business and train my team to run theirs, is to inspire, provide value, help and lead by example …and that is not only what is so fulfilling about this but it WORKS to build a solid, thriving, legit business that brings value to you, your family and those you’re helping.
2. I would need a fitness following or need to know a lot of people to make this work.
Nope. The vast majority start from ground zero with very few people currently in our lives who are on a fitness journey. You LEARN from the Coach you join (me or whomever you join) and thru my team trainings, how to build a like-minded network. Whoever you are and whatever you’ve been through, there are people who relate to YOU more than they’ll relate to someone else. If you join me or one of my team members, you’ll get start-up training and ongoing training. We focus on Social Media training and confidence building a LOT. You have one-to-one help from your coach as you need it, team support and awesome trainings from our team and the whole Beachbody Coach community as well. I teach how to use social media platforms to BUILD a like-minded network and help those who actually WANT your help. I won’t recommend pushy sales or inviting strangers out of the blue to buy / join.
3. I can’t fit this in because I work full-time and/or already have a very busy schedule.
Definitely this was one of ALL of our first hesitations so it’s understandable. You’re busy and have little to no down time. Welcome to the club 🙂 But the reality is, most start building this business by finding small pockets of time here and there where they were in the past just scrolling social media or not using time wisely. I wouldn’t say fitting this in is EASY.. but it’s most definitely do-able if you are committed to learn time management and love helping people in fitness anyway. Most of our TOP Coaches began this as they were working full-time .. and many are mom’s as well (which is the big, important job #1 😉 !)
4. I don’t want to drink Shakeology, therefore I probably can’t join or couldn’t be successful.
It’s understandable how this perception came to be, but it’s not true. You can be successful even if you decide to avoid Shakeology, but it IS our #1 selling product and it IS amazing that it helps people of all ages, fitness levels, gym goers, non fitness people, etc – the people you can help is really endless with Shakeology. So unless you’re allergic, I’d recommend at least being open minded to try it and learn about the nutrition in it. Most of us initially thought Shakeology was an over-priced protein drink. Once you understand it’s science and purpose and see/feel the RESULTS yourself (try it at least one month as nutrition has a cumulative effect), you’re likely to change your perspective on it. But that said, Shakeology is NOT required to be a coach or to be a successful coach. We have a slew of other supplements and programs you can use for yourself and stand behind to help people.
And in case you didn’t know, we have an amazing protein and BCAA post-workout recovery drink, “Recover”, that you just mix with water that is amazing plus a new pre-workout drink, Energize, that is great tasting, all-natural ingredients and WORKS! We also now have a kid-friendly organic drink, Daily Sunshine, which is certified organic, includes fruits and vegetables, healthy fats and plant-based protein. And we have BEACHbars which are a snack bar that’s certified gluten free, low glycemic index, 10 grams of protein and are better tasting and lower sugar than any of the other snack bars like RX bars, Kind bars, Cliff bars etc that we used to buy.
5. I think I need to be more fit so others will take me seriously.
Most top coaches have joined when they were just getting back into their fitness and THIS business helped them stay more accountable to that mission. But also realize, at the core of what causes us to be inspired by someone, is watching them OVERCOME their own struggles/habits/fears. This progress inspires people. If you are struggling, great, you’ve got a HUGE opportunity to get to work on yourself and show PROGRESS. The RIGHT kind of people are inspired by it.. even if they are more fit; it’s inspiring to see such progress. Everyone WANTS progress even if they’re not ready to commit to the work yet. When they are ready to commit, they will come to you as that person they know, like and TRUST. In this business, you are not advertising your BODY, you are building relationships, advocating a healthy lifestyle, and connecting with people one-to-one.
Bottom line, success will depend on who you ARE and your mindset, not what you look like.
6. This is one of those pyramid things where only those at the top make money.
Oh boy.. this makes me cringe to hear. But I get where the comment comes from. A pyramid scheme is a scheme/scam where there is no product or service exchanged and the people are making money off people just signing up. That’s not anywhere remotely close to this business model. Plus, pyramid schemes are completely illegal! Beachbody is a very well known reputable company appearing on talk shows and in fitness magazines everywhere; you can trust this is a legit company and a legit business model with real people making an income helping others in fitness and health. Anyone who makes this statement is simply lacking knowledge of our compensation structure and is saying that based on some past experience of some OTHER business. But .. I have to admit, when I heard of this, my mind went there too for a minute because, yes, the structure of this is like a pyramid. But so is EVERY organizational structure of ANY company you could work for. With this model, YOU are at the top and you build your own organization. Unlike a corporate structure, in this business the new people at the bottom have the same opportunity as the people at the top and can even make MORE than the people at the top because it all has to do with what each coach puts into the business. In this business, someone that is hundreds or even thousands of levels deep has the SAME opportunity and may already be making more money than the person who came into this business the first year it was launched. Success is based on hard work and consistency over time. I joined this business a year and a half after thousands of others had joined, yet I’m making more due to my hard work and never giving up. With this compensation structure, EACH COACH is at the top of their own organization. You are your own boss; you put into it as little or as much as YOU want.
7. Isn’t the market saturated? I feel like everyone is doing fitness on social media.
There are a lot of people doing fitness on social media, so yes, there’s saturation but that doesn’t mean competition. What do I mean by that? Well first, no one is you. Secondly, few people in coaching or fitness have found their niche or they give up before they do. It takes time and effort to identify your niche and learn how to make the most of it. Our trainings help you figure that out and learn to provide consistent value to your audience. In fact, we have a niche guru guest speaking on our team call next week! This business is not about # of followers or having a 6-pack. It’s about building relationships and making authentic connections (yes, even outside of social media if that’s your strength). You may think everyone is following those fitness guru’s who YOU are following and “why wouldn’t Sara join her instead of me??” but the reality is, your friend Sara isn’t following them and even if she is, she knows/likes and trusts YOU. She knows you’ll listen to her needs versus some stranger who may miss her messages and not care.
8. I don’t consistently do any Beachbody programs. How could I coach someone else?
Again, very understandable to hesitate due to this situation. When I joined, I had never completed a Beachbody program. Yes, I believed in the programs and I did some Turbo along with going to the gym but I had not yet done a BB program from start to finish. And that’s ok! It’s common for most starting. Becoming a coach is the perfect time to commit to a program, even if it’s just for 21 days or with each new program that launches. Have something new to talk about, shock your body into results by using something new that’s effective, and show proof on social media it works! You’ll be more inspired than ever to get and SHOW results. Coaching doesn’t mean you can no longer go to the gym, run, or bike! 🙂
Those are the top misconceptions I felt compelled to debunk 🙂
