My New Starbucks Go-to’s

Starbucks go-to drinksUnsweetened green tea or an Americano with Coconut Milk ..those are my go-to’s from Starbucks when I go– which is maybe once a week.

I don’t do the skim milk “skinny” lattes anymore because those have at LEAST 15g sugar and the sugar-free syrups make me crave baaaad carbs afterwards and upset my stomach. I used to just do those once a week but now it’s rare.

And yep, I know their coconut milk is less-than-impressive ..but for as little as I have, not an issue in my book.

Everyone is on their own path to improvement & we’re all at different points…so no judgement here on what YOU currently do!

BEWARE OF THE “SKINNY/NONFAT” label

Those Paper cupsYes, I admit 🙈I’ll *occasionally* get a nonfat mocha (as I have said many times, I don’t eat/drink clean 100% of the time & a skinny nonfat latte is not “clean” in my opinion). BUTwhen I do get one, I hate how it makes me crave more food & sugar after I’m done😤!

Artificial sweeteners in sugar-free products & the 15g of real sugar from skim, will do that to you👿.If you get “skinny/nonfat” lattes or other drinks a lot, you might notice you have a hard time with cravings or you’ve developed a sugar/sweet addiction.
Even if you get Starbucks coconut milk, you’re still getting 9g sugar & artificial sweeteners that encourage cravings. Again, I still enjoy it occasionally but lately I’m ordering just a regular coffee when we go.
Some coffee houses offer Vanilla Unsweetened Almond Milk, which is great!👌It’s really all about drinking from those to-go cups anyway😁… something about that cup makes me think I’m having a treat

Starbucks offers ‪Coconut Milk‬ now!

It’s vegan, non-dairy, lower in sugar & cholesterol free. I haven’t researched the ingredients in their coconut milk since I don’t have these daily, but I do know the coconut milk option has 10grams of sugar versus a skim milk “skinny” with 15grams sugar (for a grande – a lot of people aren’t aware of the sugar content in milk). Yes, coconut milk is higher in saturated fat but it’s the type of saturated fat that’s processed by the body differently than animal sources of saturated fat. In fact, recent studies have shown it could help scorch abdominal fat (I’m not banking on this one!)
