Tuna fish by Wild Planet Foods

This was a tuna fish (by WildPlanetFoods) made with Primal Kitchen avocado oil mayo on Ezekiel English muffin (toasted☝🏼😉). All sold at most grocery stores🙌🏼

I don’t count calories or macros but I do eat with AWARENESS of (not *restriction of*. Awareness means making sure I’m getting enough but also not TOO much) all these things: calories, macronutrients , micronutrients, ingredients in general (looking for low glycemic aka low sugar, fiber-rich carbs, no sucralose, no maltitol, no vegetable oils, no carrageenan, … just to name a few). I’m ALL FOR tracking your intake so you’re more aware of your habits and where you need to improve, if that’s where you’re at right now. I’ve journaled my intake many times over the past years & that’s why I have a fairly keen awareness. I still track once in a blue moon if I feel the need. Our nutritional needs are always changing as we age, transform, get stronger, need healing, hormones change, etc.

Do your research not only on what’s in the foods you & your kids eat/drink but what agrees/disagrees with you and what foods/drinks/activities tempt you to go off track the rest of the day/week.

Are you eating too MUCH …or too little??

TunaBoth can sabotage results! Believe me I know! At one time years ago, I wasn’t eating enough ..was practically starving myself. Now I estimate calories to ensure I’m getting ENOUGH to fuel my workouts, my muscles, my metabolism, my energy (& honestly, I usually go over the amt of food my body actually needs ..bcuz I LOVE food & i’m not afraid to overeat a little if it’s at least healthy). But don’t just take note of what *I eat, EVERYONE’s needs for total calories and carbs, proteins & fats are unique! And GOALS are unique!

For lunch I had this plus 2 hrs later I had a chocolate chunk quest bar..totaling roughly 600 calories & packed with good carbs, protein & healthy fats (there’s 1/4 avocado on that tuna sandwich made w/an Ezekiel English muffin). I didn’t get in my veggies, but I’ll easily get in 6 servings by tonight with my Shakeology & salad later (Shakeology has 3-4 servings of fruits & vegetable superfoods).

If you’re DIALING INTO your nutrition HARD because you want great results FASTER, I’d recommend counting macros or using the Portion Fix meal plan (container system making counting macros easier) which comes with programs like 21DF or Hammer & Chisel

Yes, sometimes it’s a to! But this was quinoa, white bean hummus, avocado, wild albacore tuna, & SALSA!!

Matt & T ate quinoa, steak & broccoli.
Yes, we sometimes are eating slightly different meals. What’s important in my book is that we all find ways to eat healthy foods we like!

I don’t do tuna often but in a time crunch, this is great! Low sodium tuna, mixed with a little mustard & plain Greek yogurt (instead of mayo👌), tomatoes🍅 & some guacamole on a toasted Ezekiel muffin. DELISH!😍

So this was one of my quick, small meals earlier today .. Ezekiel wrap (found in your grocery store freezer section), low sodium tuna (made with red onion, nonfat plain Greek yogurt), slivered almonds, greens & grape tomatoes !🍅

Ezekiel Wrap with Tuna

Ezekiel wrap (usually in your grocery store freezer section and they’re EASY to miss!!), this time with low sodium tuna (we were out of extra lean ground turkey burgers to crumble up) with a little light mayo & red onion, slivered almonds for extra crunch, cherry tomatoes, and all on romain lettuce. If you know me, you know I’m NOT a cook.. the stuff i make is FAST and EASY!! Matt is actually the cook 🙂 So, i hope this gives you ideas or inspiration or maybe even just stops someone from going thru a drive-thru 😉 #highprotein
